A weekend of fishing, learning and fun for the whole family at Hjelmås — a course evening, an open sea fishing competition, a banquet and a family day.

The festival is a joint effort between Alver Havfiskeklubb, Hjelmås Handelslag, UL Heimhug and Bygdelaget 5915.

The Osterfjord and Hjelmås quay · 08.00–17.00
The main competition on the Osterfjord, with everyone gathering at Hjelmås quay at 17.00. In the evening, a banquet with the prize ceremony and live music.
Hjelmås · 10.00–15.00
Magic show, bouncy castle, face painting, horseshoe throwing, market stalls, barbecue, coffee and cake — and pirates on the quay. Family fishing competition from 11.00.

Both entry and catch registration for the competition go through the app. NOK 200, maximum 100 participants, and entry closes Friday 21 August at 20.00.

No app needed. Free and open to all, but space in the hall is limited — competitors get priority. Come early.
Only 60 seats, and tickets are bought through Hoopla — the link goes out in the information letter to everyone entered in Saturday's competition. With up to 100 competitors, it pays to book early.
The banquet costs extra, on top of the NOK 200 competition entry. The price is not settled yet.
No app — sign up on the quay from 10.00. You are given a slip where name and phone number must be filled in, and you hand it in with your fish at the weigh-in with the jury from Alver Havfiskeklubb.
Price: children NOK 50 · adults NOK 100 · family NOK 150.
Children must be accompanied by an adult, and wear a life jacket near the water.
The FishComp leaderboard updates as the competition runs. You can follow both the individual and the team standings as catches are approved.
